cornish fairies

Just got back from a gorgeous few days away in Cornwall with the boy, where we spent the large majority of our time eating, drinking, exploring and, well, eating. We stayed in a little b&b in Padstow which was just amazing. Nothing better than being woken up with your breakfast (poached eggs, deeeeeliish) delivered to your room every morning!

Here are just a few snaps....

Saw this bike and knew it was the one for me... I got lots of jealous (read: worried) looks!

And now for the food.....

Sea bass with roasted plum tomatoes (triple cooked chips on the side.... obvs)

Figs with prosciutto ham

Scallops with hogs pudding, apple syrup and butternut squash puree

Mussles and Thatchers cider

I've got to give it to Corwnall, they know how to cook their fish! The mussles and scallops we had on the last night were literally incredible. We also tried Rick Stein's fish and chips (you can't really get away from him in Padstow/Padstein) and I've gotta say although they were yummy, they weren't the best I've tasted! May partly be down to the fact I was still full from the huge burger I had for lunch in Tintagel, but that's besides the point...

Hope you like the pics, outfit post to come in the week :)

Much love x

the help

I've just finished reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett and can honestly say it is the best book I've read this year, if not ever.

Really inspiring and well written, it's both shocking and hilarious and is one of those books you just can't put down. I guess being a 'sociologist' this story really appeals to me, but I haven't met one person who didn't like the book.

Anyone else read The Help? The film is out this week in the UK too and I can't wait to see it, I really like Emma Stone and think she'll make a great Skeeter Phelan. I really hope the film does the book justice!
